Since 2015, Trae has dropped an album every year. "Tha Truth" in 2015, "Tha Truth Pt. 2" in 2016, and now "Tha Truth Pt. 3", nearly two years to the day after the first one.

Trae had explained in an interview, that this project is very personal, one of the most personal albums he's ever made.
