Snoop Dogg Speaks On Getting 2Pac's Masters Back To Death Row

Last month, Snoop Dogg bought Death Row from the MNRK Music Group, which is controlled by private equity giant Blackstone.

However, the deal didn't include many of Death Row's most famous properties, including masters for artists like 2Pac and Dr. Dre.

According to Snoop, Pac's masters weren't in the deal because they reverted back to his Pac's family last year.

Snoop told Tidal he plans on getting them back.

“As far as 2Pac’s masters, 2Pac’s masters came back to him last year,” he said. “But I got a great relationship with his estate, and I’m pretty sure we’re going to be able to work something out … to continue some Death Row 2Pac business now that Snoop Dogg is in control of Death Row," Snoop said.

Snoop added that he was going to change up the label's tone, and there would be no more beef at Death Row, which is notorious for the deadly East Coast-West Coast wars of the 90s.

“I don’t want no rappers or no people that got issues, beefs, problems, misunderstandings,” he said. “Any of that street sh*t — you’ve got ties to neighborhoods that don’t like this neighborhood, you can’t get along and you can’t go here, you can’t … all of them can't can’t be with me.”
