Snoop Dogg has never been shy about his affiliation with the Crips.
But a post on the website Dairy Of A Hollywood Street King suggests the blue team in Snoop's hometown of Long Beach are getting sick of Snoop speaking their name without paying the fee.
"Snoop Dogg had his ghetto pass officially revoked. The legendary Long Beach rapper was in his hometown with some security when members of the Rolling 20 Crips spotted him. They approached Snoop and made it clear he had to bounce before things got 'heat’d... ... The beef comes from Snoop claiming LBC and dropping Crips references on his tracks, but not paying royalties to Rolling 20s. "This gang banging shit is real. It ain’t Hollywood, and all that shit nigga talk about during the songs, He ain’t live that shitt," writes their correspondent. They really want their money though. Nigga claiming hood, claiming rolling 20 Crip…the homies want their kickback for that shit. Until he starts paying his respects with those checks, Snoop might need to steer clear of LBC for a while."According to AllHipHop.com, Snoop addressed the Crip check in a Facebook video, which has since been deleted. He says the incident never happened, and it's instead a rumor made up by gang members who resent that he's doing something positive.
"I am the LBC and me and my young homies have a great relationship. "I’m enlightening homies and showing them how to get it a different way. That’s what real big homies do. I refuse to put a pistol or a sack in my little homies’ hand," Snoop said.He also suggested he knew who was causing the trouble for him.
"You’re gonna get that face to face with me and I’m gonna give you the intellect that you totally deserve," Snoop said.
