Rae Sremmurd's Slim Jxmmi has clearly seen better days.

TMZ reports that he's now behind bars after being arrested at LAX in Inglewood, California on Sunday, August 7. He flew in from Canada at the time and was booked by customs as well as border patrol agents.

It's said there was an outstanding warrant for Jxmmi coming out of Georgia, which is related to possession of marijuana charge with intent to sell. Officials have already secured paperwork to have him extradited back to the southern state, and the maximum sentence for that charge is 30 years.

But Jxmmi's attorney, Steve Sadow, says all of this is a misunderstanding and expects his client to be released in days.

"Nearly two years ago, Aaquil entered a plea to a marijuana offense in Cobb County, Georgia," Sadow explained. "He was placed on probation. In early June 2022, the mother of his child filed a untruthful complaint with the Cobb County Police Department, which led to an arrest warrant being issued."

He continued. "Aaquil was not arrested on that warrant. Instead, a Cobb County Magistrate Judge held a hearing on July 20, 2022 and dismissed the warrant. Unfortunately, the Cobb County Probation Office was not made aware that the arrest warrant was dismissed and thus failed to withdraw its probation violation warrant. When Aaquil came back from Canada into LA airport, he was arrested on the probation violation warrant. We expect that warrant to be withdrawn in the next day or so, and then Aaquil will be released."

Jxmmi was also arrested in January in Miami after his girlfriend and child's mother said he assaulted her. That case was dropped, however.
