People have been talking about their desire for a reboot or spinoff of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air for some time.
So when director Morgan Cooper released a trailer last year for Bel-Air, which shows the beloved sitcom as a drama, people lost it and the video went viral.
The Hollywood Reporter now says that Bel-Air will move forward and be produced through Will and Jada Pinkett Smith's Westbrook production company.
There's also a bidding war for the new show between Netflix, Peacock, HBO Max, and Amazon, so Cooper seems to have a good amount of leverage to close a deal.
You can check out last year's trailer above, where Smith called the idea of making The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air into a drama a "brilliant" idea.
