Saweetie decided to perform her new cut "Fast (Motion)" on the Santa Monica pier in Southern California over the weekend, and she caused a huge stir. But the fuss wasn’t for the performance itself, it was because Saweetie used a donation jar.

After the video spread, some asked if Saweetie was in need of money, while others said someone in her position shouldn’t be asking the public for cash. So the Cali native jumped on Live to explain herself.

"Was I asking money? No, girl, I wasn't asking for no money yesterday," said Saweetie, who disses her ex Quavo in her song “See Saw.” "Actually, yesterday was a spur of the moment and it was fun. We were at the Santa Monica Pier and I saw this upcoming artist, he was singing with his microphone. I was like, you know what, I got a new single so I'm gonna just perform for my fans because I love them so much and a couple of people noticed me. All the proceeds and donations from that tip jar was given to him."
