Russ is a do-it-yourself kind of guy. With his 2017 album There's Really A Wolf he became the first rapper to ever go platinum without any producers or features.
He's also a big advocate for staying as independent as possible.
The 27-year old stunted some of the spoils of his independence on Instagram, displaying two songs on his TuneCore account that he's made seven figures on.
"Inspirational purposes : This is a screenshot of 2 songs on my TuneCore (I have about 300) Been maintaining my independent catalogue since the get go in 2011. There’s a lot of money in music, you just have to own it. Keep goin and keep the faith 🙏🏼 tag an artist who needs to see this," Russ typed.
Russ, who's knocked out 14 albums, is not popular in the rap game for his arrogance and scolding attitude.
