Run The Jewels' 'RJ3' Sold A Lot Of Copies For A Free Album

Run The Jewels have always been more of a critical success than a commercial one.

And the first week sales of their latest album RJ3  (22k) aren't impressive on their face.

But they're pretty good when you aggressively give the album away for free, as El-P did in this Tweet.

He jumped back on Twitter today to celebrate the accomplishment.

to recap: jumped street date by 3 weeks, gave the record away for free, no physical yet, still sold 22k copies in week one. fully indy.
