In a recent interview, Fredro Starr classified Royce Da 5'9" as a "nerd rapper."
"We was on the Nelly tour together, real n*gga," Fredro said of Royce. "But what I'm saying is that he would be in the nerd part of rap,"
Royce heard that and also had something to say.
"My brother. Let me start by saying I have nothing but respect for your legacy and what you contributed to the culture. I never had a problem being called a nerd or a backpack rapper," Rocye explained, adding he thinks you can be both a lyrical rapper and a street n*gga.
After dancing around a bit, Royce got real with the Onyx spitter.
"I appreciate you calling me your man. But I would remiss to not be completely transparent and let you know I am not your man. I have no desire to build any sort of relationship with you moving forward just so we clear. There's no reason for you to ever play with me again, I don't play. I don't like to play ... I'm not going to say it again Frederick Starr, you keep being legend and I'm going to keep doing what I do. Next time you mention me, you gave me the compliments and whatever you give me and leave all that other stuff out because there's something that comes with it," Royce threatened.
Does Fredro need to tread lightly?
