Rico Love Says Lupe Fiasco A Weirdo; Kodak Black & 21 Savage Are Doped Up

by Daryl Nelson

The singer and producer Rico Love had a little something to say about the current state of rap, and it's bound to ruffle some feathers.

While speaking on the podcast Friend Or Foe, Love said the new generation of rappers need to do a better job of helping people with their music —like Tupac did — but they're too drugged out.

"That's why [Pac] died for that reason," he said. "Nobody gets murdered on the Vegas strip and nobody seen nothing. They killed him for that reason, because they knew he had a voice ... Kodak Black, he's so doped up. 21 Savage, all these artists. People can get mad if they wanna get mad, but it's the truth. These are young guys. They're the same age Pac was, and they're not speaking up. They're doped up."
Later in the interview, Love said that Lupe Fiasco was too weird to help the people with his music.

"If Lupe would have just not got so weird on us, he could have led a whole movement," he stated. "But what happened was: he was so left to where niggas he was really trying to reach looked at him like a weirdo."
