Report: Kyrie Irving May Be Done In The NBA

by HHL JT

Kyrie Irving is in the midst of at least a five-game team-imposed suspension for promoting an antisemitic movie on social

To return to the Nets Irving will have to take six steps:

– Apologize/condemn the movie
– $500K donation to anti-hate causes
– Sensitivity training
– Antisemitic training
– Meet with ADL, Jewish leaders
– Meet with team owner Joe Tsai to demonstrate understanding

Sam Amick of The Athletic surveyed NBA executives on Irving's future.

The feedback was bleak, with the execs attaching little value to Irving despite his immense talent.

NBA executives poll on all things Nets, at @TheAthletic: What is Kyrie Irving's future? Should they tear it down (again)? Will they trade Kevin Durant, or might he ask out (again)?

"At what point is Durant gonna say 'F*** it. Get me out of here'?"https://t.co/NcfGsS3VnE

One GM went as far as to say he didn't see Kyrie ever playing in the NBA again.

Another explained why teams will be reluctant to trade for him this year or sign him this coming offseason when he's likely to be  free agent.

“I think he’s a really challenging guy. Leaving aside whether he’s a good human, a bad human, whether he’s using his platform correctly or anything else, and even if I have zero morals and I’m just making a basketball evaluation, you need him to play. It doesn’t matter why someone can’t play, but how do you feel good that he’s gonna be available?
