Report: Drake Still In Cash Money Contract, 'View From The 6' Gets Him Out

by HHL Editors

One of the mysteries of the last week is what exactly Drake's contract status is with Cash Money, and what effect his surprise album/mixtape If You're Reading This, It's Too Late has on it.

The New York Post and their sources have weighed in on this. They say Drake has a five record deal with CMYM. Meaning that if If You're Reading This, It's Too Late counts as an album -- and it should -- Drake would be a free agent after View From The 6, which should drop this year.

Sources said Drake likely has a standard five-album deal with the company, which would make “Views From the 6” his last," the Post reports.
The headline of the article is "Drake eyes split with Cash Money Records."

"Drake is probably frustrated," a source told The Post. "He’s gotten to a point where he wants more."

Nothing too groundbreaking here, although the five album vs. four album (which had been the rumor) detail is significant.
