Verizon took over Tumblr when they bought Yahoo in 2017 and then banned nudity on the microblogging site in 2018.

It turns out, nudity was a big part of Tumblr. Without it, traffic quickly dropped 30 percent

Now Verizon wants to sell Tumblr. Its rumored buyer, PornHub, will certainly bring back the breasts.

"Tumblr was a safe haven for those who wanted to explore and express their sexuality, adult entertainment aficionados included," Pornhub VP Corey Price said when asked about the potential purchase.

"We’ve long been dismayed that such measures were taken to eradicate erotic communities on the platform, leaving many individuals without an asylum through which they could comfortably peruse adult content."

Yahoo paid $1.1 billion for Tumblr in 2013. Financial terms of a potential PornHub deal haven't been revealed, but Tumblr is now worth many times less than that.
