Pop Smoke's Brooklyn Mural Has Been Vandalized

by Daryl Nelson

Even though it's been almost three years since Pop Smoke was killed in Los Angeles, he still gets a lot of love from fans.

But there's people who've expressed the opposite emotion toward the late rapper because last year his gravesite was vandalized and now the same has happened to his mural, located in Brooklyn.

At this point, it's not clear why the mural was damaged, and so far there hasn't been any footage released that shows who might've been responsible.

The painting, located in the Canarsie section of the borough, was created in 2020 by Hattas Public Murals.

Some may recall that a mural of Mobb Deep's Prodigy was damaged in 2017 twice before being permanently removed, so hopefully the same doesn't happen to Pop's mural.

Any theories as to why someone would damage it?
