Pop Smoke Ties Prince For Billboard Mark

by HHL JT

Pop Smoke may be gone but his music is very much alive.

The Brooklyn rapper's posthumous album Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon has now spent 19 consecutive weeks on top of Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop album chart.

That ties Prince's seminal hit album Purple Rain as the second-longest streak atop that chart.

Michael Jackson's Thriller spent 37 weeks at No. 1 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop.

Pop already has the most No. 1 weeks on Billboard's newer Rap album chart with 20.  It passed Eminem's Recovery, which has 19, last week.
