Petition To Ban Kanye From Headlining Glastonbury Festival Gaining Support

by HHL Editors

Kanye West spent a good chunk of the past month in England. But it doesn't look like he made that good of an impression.

On Monday, 'Ye was announced as the headliner for the annual Glastonbury Festival, which is the most famous music festival in the UK.

By Tuesday there was a petition on Change.org to "Cancel Kanye West's headline slot and get a rock band," and it looks like it will soon get the 50,000 signatures required to make it "official."

Kanye West is an insult to music fans all over the world. We spend hundreds of pounds to attend glasto, and by doing so, expect a certain level of entertainment," the petition reads. "Kanye has been very outspoken on his views on music....he should listen to his own advice and pass his headline slot on to someone deserving! Lets prevent this musical injustice now!:
The petition itself carries no authority. So even if it does hit  50,000, Glastonbury is under no obligation to drop Kanye -- and we seriously doubt they will .

The festival, which attracts crowds of up to 175,000, will run between June 24th and 28th. The Foo Fighters and Lionel Richie have also been confirmed as acts, with many more to come.
