Pablo Escobar's Right Hand Man Carlos Lehder freed & Should 2 Chainz Be Worried?

by HHL JT

Carlos Lehder, who co-founded the Medellín Cartel with Pablo Escobar, has been freed after 33 years in U.S. federal pen.

Lehder was known for running Norman's Cay, a private island in the Bahamas that was central to the cartel's smuggling operations.

He was nabbed in Columbia in 1987 and extradited to the United States.  He got 135 years, but that was knocked down to 55 when he agreed to testify against former Panamian President Manuel Noriega.

Lehder has German citizen through his father, who was born there and immigrated to Columbia.  (Lehder was notorious for his neo-nazi sympathies.)  He is being released to Germany, where he has no remaining family, and will be cared for by a charity.

The character  Diego Delgado in the Johnny Depp movie Blow is based on Lehder.  He is also featured in Narcos.

2 Chainz, who is currently being sued by the Escobar family for stealing Pablo's likeness for his restaurant, is probably hoping the 70-year old stays in Germany.
