Online Petition To Free 'Tha Carter V' Isn't Picking Up Much Steam

by HHL Editors

Assuming the rift between Lil Wayne and Cash Money isn't just one big publicity stunt, with Baby standing on a big bag of money rubbing his hands together even harder than usual, we're probably not going to be seeing Tha Carter V anytime soon.

But in this Internet age, they're alternative means to get an album released. For one, somebody could just leak it. Or it could go down like it did with Lupe Fiasco's album -- with Anonymous threatening to dox the hell of Atlantic Records unless they freed Tetsuo & Youth.

Or fans can take the crowd sourcing route, and use the power of the masses to convince a record company to release an album. That's what the online petition 'From The Fans Of Lil Wayne' is hoping to do. They politely write:

Greetings from the fans of Lil Wayne aka Lil Tunechi, We would like to take the time to request that Baby & Cash Money Records consider releasing Lil Wayne aka Lil Tunechi new album for the holidays. We the fans have truly been looking forward to a new release and hope you will reconsider your decision not to release it. Thank you so much in advance for your consideration.
Unfortunately, despite being promoted on some pretty big Hip Hop sites, the petition only has 12 signatures to date.

But don't let that hold you back if you want to put your name on the effort to free Tha Carter V.
