Ol' Dirty Bastards Widow Sues RZA For Stealing His Royalties

by HHL JT

Ol' Dirty Bastard's widow  Icelene Jones claims that ODB's cousin and Wu-Tang leader RZA has stiffed her on ODB's royalties.

According to a lawsuit she has filed in New York, the RZA run Wu-Tang Clan Productions didn't pay out any royalties to ODB's estate between 2011 and 2021.  ODB died in 2004 of an overdose.

In 2021, Jones finally got a 130K check.  But she doesn't believe that amount covers the  50 percent of net earnings on the publishing of ODB's copyrighted songs that she says a 1992 contract with RZA entitled ODB and his estate to.

Jones is asking the court for royalties from merchandising and videos, damages of at least $1 million, interest, attorneys’ fees, and costs.
