NYPD Looking into Gun Violence & Murder In NYC Drill Scene

It's been a violent 2022 in New York City in general.

And in its drill scene in particular.

Last week, Tdott Woo, the reported inventor of the Woo walk, was killed hours after announcing he signed a record deal.

That came days after rising drill rapper Nas Blixky was shot in the head, but survived, and weeks after 16-year-old drill spitter C Blu shot a cop and (briefly) made bail on his record company advance.

The NYPD is now looking into the drill scene.

They don't believe it is the root cause of the violence -- which they see as gang-related -- but believe it inflames the situation.

“The music definitely inflames the situation,” said NYPD Deputy Chief Joseph Gulotta, commanding officer of detectives in Brooklyn South. “But these are gang shootings. I think sometimes rap and the lyrics ignite, cause some issues. But I don’t think that’s the underlying motive at the end of the day."

New York's last mayor, Bill de Blasio, got rid of the city's notorious Hip Hop cops.

New mayor Eric Adams, who recently met with President Joe Biden to discuss the violence in his city, is on a big anti-crime kick and may well reverse that.
