Now Marvin Gaye's Estate May Come After Pharrell For 'Happy'

by HHL Editors

Marvin Gaye's estate's big $7.4 million win over Pharrell and Robin Thicke in the 'Blurred Lines' copyright infringement case had us a lot more worried about Thicke than Pharrell.

That's because Skateboard P has at least as much 'Happy' money as he did 'Blurred Lines' cash.

Well, about that 'Happy' money ...

According to CBS News, Gaye's kids are among those who think Pharrell also swiped his other mega-earworm hit from their dad. In this case, the Gaye track 'Ain't That Peculiar.'

"I'm not going to lie. I do think they sound alike," Nona Gaye, Marvin's 40-year-old daughter, said. "I heard the mash-ups -- but I didn't really need to hear them," Janis Gaye added. "I know 'Ain't That Peculiar' and I've heard 'Happy.'"
They both added that they are not currently in the "space" to initiate another lawsuit. But it's something that's on their radar, and they may explore their 'Happy' legal options once the euphoria of their 'Blurred Lines' win is over.

Listen to the mash-up Janis mentioned, and let us know what you think.
