NLE Choppa Describes Recent Airport Fight, Denies Person Was An NBA YoungBoy Fan

by Daryl Nelson

NLE Choppa talked about his fight at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport last week.

At first, there were reports that the person who approached him was an NBA YoungBoy fan but Choppa said that's untrue.

In fact, the Memphis rapper said the guy was a fan of his and grew upset after being ignored. Choppa was wearing headphones when he was approached and couldn't hear what the man was saying initially.

"So he walk up but by the time I look up to see him I guess he had already called my name a few times or something. I didn’t hear sh*t," said Choppa on DJ Akademiks' Off The Record podcast. "I could tell he was a fan, though. Like, I could really tell that’s why I was finna deescalate. I was feeling, like, ‘My man I have my earphones in, I just can’t hear you, bruh.’"

He continued. "It was just crazy and like he jumped at me and I’m like, ‘What the f*ck?’ and I just look at him I’m like, in a split second of me thinking, I’m like, ‘Man, should I pop on this n***a man?’ And I just went ahead and fired on him, ’cause I just feel like If I would have turned my back and walked off, he woulda sucker-punched me or did whatever, bruh. So I just went ahead and popped it off.”

Were you surprised to see Choppa without any security or an entourage when the fight went down?
