Nicki Minaj's 'Only' Lyrics Video Is Under Fire For Nazi Imagery

by HHL Editors

One would think the lyrics video for Nicki Minaj's 'Only' featuring Drake, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown would be controversial for its lyrics, which include Minaj suggesting Drizzy and Weezy should double team her and eat her ass "like a cupcake."

But it's Nazi imagery, not anallingus, that has critics pointing the dirty stick at the effort. Many have pointed out that the video's visual elements -- in particular the color scheme, Young Money logo and Riefenstahl-like long shots -- look an awful lot like the images that came out of Adolf Hitler's Third Reich.

Sure, Nicki wasn't trying for Nazi imagery. Mm-hmm. pic.twitter.com/k1K6zNkYWJ — Sara Benincasa (@SaraJBenincasa) November 9, 2014

So far Minaj hasn't commented on the controversy. The video's director, Jeff Osborne, seems to be having a little fun with it, re-tweeting much of the criticism without comment.

Watch the video and let us know if you think the Nazi vibe was deliberate. And whether it matters if it was.
