Nicki Minaj Will Produce & Act In Sitcom Based On Her Life

The life of Nicki Minaj will soon be a ABC Family comedy.

The show begins shooting this winter, and will focus on the childhood of the-then-Onika Tanya Maraj, who immigrated with her family from Trinidad and Tobago to Queens, NY.

"This is one of the more unique adventures I’ve ever embarked on," Minaj said. “I couldn’t be more proud and excited to team up with an amazing group of people to give the world something really special."

The sitcom doesn't have a title yet, nor any announced cast besides Minaj, who will act in an undisclosed role.

Minaj, who has a background in acting, appeared in the movie The Other Woman last year.
