Nicki Minaj's Husband Gets His Sentence For Not Registering As A Sex Offender

by Daryl Nelson

Nicki Minaj's husband Kenneth Petty learned his fate for failing to register as a sex offender.

He was found guilty of attempted first-degree rape of a 16-year-old in the mid-'90s and had to register as a sex offender as a result.

But he didn't follow through with that once he married Minaj and moved to Los Angeles, so he was arrested in 2020.

On Wednesday, July 6, Petty was sentenced to one year of home detention, 3 years probation and has to pay a $55,000 fine.

Prosecutors wanted him to serve 15 months in prison, arguing that house arrest in Minaj's plush digs wasn't punishment enough.

The rapper hasn't responded to the decision yet, but she did post some family photos to Instagram since then.
