However, Nicki Minaj was able to convince him to keep it on.
Getting 'Ye to keep 'Monster' on the album ended up being huge for Minaj. Her verse was arguably the best and it solidified her place as an up-and-coming superstar. A month after 'Monster' dropped as a single, Nicki Minaj's debut album Pink Friday opened with a 375K week and spent 72 straight weeks on the chats.
