Nicki Minaj Calls Out The Grammys for 2012 Best New Artist Snub

by Daryl Nelson

The 2021 Grammy nominations were just released, which means there will be artists blasting the nominating committee for being snubbed. For example, Quality Control's Pierre Thomas already ripped the Grammys for not nominating Lil Baby's My Turn album.

But it's not everyday that an artist blasts the Grammys for an award they didn't receive nearly a decade ago. Yet that's what Nicki Minaj did Tuesday, Nov. 24 on Twitter.

The new mom mentioned that she lost Best New Artist in 2012 to the indie folk band Bon Iver, and she's still upset about it.

Never forget the Grammys didn’t give me my best new artist award when I had 7 songs simultaneously charting on billboard & bigger first week than any female rapper in the last decade- went on to inspire a generation. They gave it to the white man Bon Iver. #PinkFriday

Are you surprised that Nicki is still mad over the snub eight years later?
