A Prodigy mural went up in his adopted hometown of Queensbridge soon after the Mobb Deep rapper died from sickle cell complications.
It was quickly defaced multiple times, and the rumor was it wasn't just random graffiti.
Earlier this month, Prodigy's former artist Mike Delorean explained that the mural couldn't exist in Queensbridge because Prodigy had disrespected community members who were in jail or dead.

In a new Breakfast Club interview, Queens rapper N.O.R.E. expanded on what Deloran said.
“I’m not qualified to speak on that,” N.O.R.E. explains to the hosts when asked about who defaced the mural. “But it came from a big homie that’s in jail that don’t have nothing. I know you always pick up Prodigy’s book, but Prodigy’s book hurt a lot of people. Dead, in jail, alive, and the guy that’s up north, he’s a respectable guy. Everybody respects him. He sent the word and it’s official.” The one lesson we should take is to try to better at life," N.O.R.E. continued. "It's good to heal wounds. I just want to live life better.
