Mos Def Is Not Battling Lupe Fiasco; Says Privacy Was Invaded

By HHL Editors

The Mos Def vs. Lupe Fiasco battle that had everyone so enthralled yesterday is not going to happen.

Last night, Mos explained that there were specific instructions not to release the video in which he challenges all comers in the battle arena, and that its leak was a violation of his privacy.

The artist now known as Yasiin Bey went on to criticize "the circus type atmosphere that's been put up around our culture," and argued that Hip Hop is "not a competitive sport."

He also referenced the anti-Drake article "I'm Breaking Up With Drake" which ran in Pitchfork earlier this week. So it wasn't too hard to figure out whom he was talking about when he later bemoaned "wack rappers selling like hot cakes."

Are you disappointed that we won't be seeing Mos Vs. Lupe?
