Mike Will Made-It Responds to Gangsta Boo Saying Rappers Steal from Three 6 Mafia

by Daryl Nelson

Last week, Gangsta Boo accused some of today's rappers of stealing from Three 6 Mafia's sound.

This was right around the time people on social media were pointing out the new G-Eazy's cut "No Limit"  and the not-so-new ASAP Ferg track "Plain Jane" borrowed flows from Tear Da Club Up Thugs' "Slob On My Knob." Tear Da Club Up Thugs was a group made up of Three 6 Mafia members Juicy J, DJ Paul and Lord Infamous.

Then on Sunday, Gangsta Boo referenced Cardi B, who's also on G-Eazy's "No Limit" and gave her some props. Boo also seemed surprised that her tweet caused such a big stir.

Afterward, producer Mike Will Made-It -- who wasn't involved with "No Limit" or "Plain Jane" -- jumped into the conversation and said if he borrows anything from the Memphis group it's only to pay homage.

Damn we just redid one haaaard af ! But we also come with our own songs , and far from clowns , so I won’t assume u talking to us 😘, only homage being paid from our side, which is only a good thing I thought 🤷🏾‍♂️, juice n paul fuckn w it tho so we’ll take that a pass 👂🏾🥁

Gangsta Boo then explained she wasn't talking about Mike. Based on their exchange, there isn't any bad blood between them.

What are your thoughts? Do you think a lot of today's rappers and producers are just recycling old ideas or are they coming up with their own stuff?
