Even after his untimely death, Michael Jackson continues to set records that nobody may ever break. Thriller is the best selling album of all time, moving 100 million units world wide since its release in 1982

The album is now also 30 times platinum in the United States. Meaning, 30 million Americans have bought copies of Thriller.  Cary Sherman, CEO of The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), announced the unprecedented certification yesterday.

"RIAA has awarded Gold & Platinum records on behalf of the music business for nearly 60 years, but this is the first time an artist has crossed the 30X multi-Platinum plateau. We are honored to celebrate the unique status of Thriller in Gold & Platinum history. What an exceptional achievement and testament to Thriller’s enduring spot in our hearts and musical history.”
