Meek Mill Pleads Guilty to Gun Charge: Gets All Other Charges Dropped

by HHL JT

Meek Mill has finally settled the 12 year-long legal ordeal that has had him in and out of jail.

This morning, Mill pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor gun charge stemming from his notorious 2007 drugs and guns arrest in exchange for having all other charges against him dropped

His initial conviction in 2008 led to eight months in prison and then four different probation violations. However, earlier this summer Meek was granted a new trial where he could argue that his Judge Gencee Brinkley -- who had been removed from the case -- had been biased against him.

Instead, he's closed the case for good by pleading guilty to a charge that will bring him no additional punishment or probation.

"I'm very thankful from the bottom of my heart everybody that ever mentioned my name or said free meek or helped me get to this position," Meek told his supporters this morning. “Meek freed, I’m not on probation no more. Thank you, I appreciate that a lot. And I just wanted to come up here myself and thank all the supporters because I know y’all probably got family members in jail or people going through the same thing as me and I will continue to do what I do with the reform movement and help the people who helped me.”

I’ll continue to use my platform to make communities safer and reform our criminal justice system. I want to express my gratitude to all of my supporters, especially JAY-Z, Desiree Perez, Michael Rubin, my legal team and everyone else who stood by me throughout the years.
