Meek Mill, Eminem, Vince Staples & Wiz Khalifa In The Oscar Race

by HHL Editors

Meek Mill, Eminem, Vince Staples, Donald Glover and Wiz Khalifa all have tracks among the 74 that are being considered for the five slots in the Oscars' Best Original Song category.

Meek Mill was advanced for the Creed song 'Fighting Stronger, which features Jhene Aiko and Ludwig Goransson. Also from Creed is the Vince Staples & Donald Glover cut 'Waiting For My Moment.'

Eminem was advanced for 'Phenomenal' from Southpaw. Wiz Khalifa's mega smash 'See You Again' from Furious 7 is in the running, and probably has the best chance of being nominated and actually winning.

Three rap songs have won Best Original Song at the Oscars. In 2002 Emimem's 8 Mile anthem 'Lose Yourself took the statue, in 2005 Three 6 Mafia earned the award for the Hustle & Flow cut 'It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp', and last year Common and John Legend won for 'Glory' from the film Selma.

The Oscars take place on Sunday, February 28.
