Martin Shkreli Hasn't Turned Wu-Tang Album Over To The Feds

by HHL JT

Last month, disgraced pharmacy executive Martin Shkreli was sentenced to seven years in prison and a $75,000 fine for defrauding investors.

In addition, the Feds have been authorized to seize $7.3 million of Shkreli's assets, including the one-of-a-kind Wu-Tang Clan album Once Upon a Time in Shaolin and a CD copy of Lil' Wayne's unreleased album Tha Carter V.

According to senior government officials, they haven't done that yet.

“The Wu-Tang album is not in our possession,” a senior Justice Department official told VICE News on Tuesday. “Forfeiture has been stayed in the Shkreli case pending his appeal of the conviction. And we may never seize the album if, after he loses his appeal, he writes a check to cover his forfeiture obligation.”

No word on the album you're probably more interested in: The Wayne one. But it stands to reason it is also still in Shkreli's hands, so to speak.
