Man Who Attacked Dave Chappelle On Stage Explains Why He Did It

by Daryl Nelson

It's been a few weeks since a man named Isaiah Arias Lee attacked Dave Chappelle at the Hollywood Bowl.

Lee recently spoke to the New York Post about the incident and what made him do it.

“I identify as bisexual … and I wanted him to know what he said was triggering,” said Lee, who also explained that he had no intention of hurting the comedian. “I wanted him to know that next time, he should consider first running his material by people it could affect."

The now-jailed Lee also said that Chappelle's jokes about homelessness bothered him since he was once homeless himself.

“I’m also a single dad and my son is 5,” Lee stated. “It’s a struggle and I wanted Dave Chappelle to know it’s not a joke.”

Chappelle hasn't commented on Lee's interview yet.
