Majid Jordan Speaks On Living In Studio Tents While Writing For Drake

by HHL Editors

We learned earlier this year that Drake spent a couple of months working in Dr. Dre's Aftermath songwriting camp before he got big. Apparently, he has taken that type of intense and collaborative approach to creativity to his label.

OVO Sound producers and performing duo Majid Jordan explained what goes into working for Drake  in an interview with Hot 97.

"We got back Toronto and they were just starting the beginnings of Nothing Was The Same, in 2013. They basically put us in a studio, and it was like a studio camp, there were tents in there," Majid explains. "Make beats. Stay in the dungeon. You can not leave. You can not tell anybody you're working on the project," he continued, pouring it on heavy. "I slept in a tent in the studio."
Their labor became the track 'Hold On, We're Going Home' and the rest is history.

The duo start talking Drake's intense beat camp at about the 4:30 mark.
