Machine Gun Kelly Says He Was 'Coked Out' While Making Latest Album

by Daryl Nelson

Machine Gun Kelly's latest album Tickets To My Downfall went No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts, the first ever for the rapper turned rocker.

While making the LP, Kelly fell in love with Megan Fox, even though she's still married to actor Brian Austin Green. Kelly talked about meeting her during a new interview with NME, while also admitting that he was using a lot of cocaine during the recording of his album.

"[I was] coked out of my mind in a drunken stupor," said Kelly about the early recording sessions of Tickets To My Downfall. "Tickets is essentially my diary, because I did fall in love during the making of this record, and I did become a better person."

"It’s interesting," he continued. "There was probably a crossroads in the middle of making this album where the title would have lived up to the reality. I think the universe caught on to me wanting to make a change. It was like, ‘Maybe we won’t make this a reality; maybe we’ll make this ironic.’ Instead of the downfall, go ahead and have the biggest rise of your f*cking life.”
