Mac Miller's 'GO:OD AM' First Week Sales Projections Seem Low

by Sermon

Mac Miller's GO:OD AM came out today. His third studio album marks a departure from his independent roots of Rostrum Records and into the major label system of Warner Bros (With whom he has a $10 million deal). Many wondered what role a major would play into Mac's future as an artist. Well, we can start by looking at his first week sales projections.

GO:OD AM is on track to sell 75K in its first week, according to HDD.  These are pretty decent numbers in this environment. But compared to his first two albums, this is a decrease. Blue Slide Park broke barriers by being the first indie #1 album since Tha Dogg Pound's debut album with a 175K first week. His next album, Watching Movies With The Sound Off, pulled in about 102K in its firs week.

Hopefully, the numbers pick up for GO:OD AM, because it's on par with Mac's previous albums/mixtapes.
