Lupe Fiasco Explains How His Career Suffered After He Dissed Barack Obama

by Daryl Nelson

Lupe Fiasco revealed what it was like for him not being a Barack Obama supporter when Obama was in office.

In 2011 Lupe, who hinted at retirement not too long ago, called the former President a "terrorist," and two years later he was kicked off a Washington D.C. stage for delivering anti-Obama lyrics.

The Chicago rhymer recently spoke with Vibe and said he was nearly blackballed for his Obama disses. It's the second time that Lupe has talked about being blackballed this month.

“When me and Obama had our situation, people stopped picking up the phone and kind of stepped back,” said Lupe, who also dissed Lyor Cohen and a couple of weeks ago. “That door closes, but the door that opens up is something like the Aspen Institute or the CEO of Heineken, and now these are my friends.”
