Ludacris Explains Why He Beefed With T.I. Back In The Day

by Daryl Nelson

Ludacris and T.I. began beefing around 2004 when Tip sent a subliminal shot to him on Young Buck's song "Stomp."

"Me getting beat down? That’s ludicrous,"rhymed the Grand Hustle boss.

That led to a back-and-forth between the rappers. T.I. was then accused of punching Luda's manager Chaka Zulu in Hollywood, California in 2007.

Luda talked about the beef during a recent visit to Drink Champs and said it all had to do with competition. [Head to the 9:56-mark]

"From my perspective, it was always little subliminals and I just heard subliminals," he explained. "I'm extremely competitive, so I'm always with the subliminals. So, when he would jab, I would jab right back in records."

Later, Luda talked about how he and Tip settled things, which happened during a flight.

"It's crazy because, again, in retrospect, we were actually on a flight together on a plane. We went to George Floyd's funeral services together," Luda recalled. "Will Packer put a bunch of people together on this plane, and so we literally were on there talking for two, three hours."
