LL Cool J Rejects 'Forefather Of Pop Rap' Title

by Daryl Nelson

LL Cool J has earned many titles in his long and impressive career: He's called an icon, a rap pioneer, a successful actor and businessman. But there's one title that he's not cool with and that's the forefather of pop rap.

It's not clear who, but someone gave the "Rock the Bells" rhymer that title, which he responded to on Monday, April 12.

Me being called the forefather of pop rap is very confusing. What the fuck are you talking about?? LOL

"Me being called the forefather of pop rap is very confusing. What the f*ck are you talking about?? LOL," wrote LL, who once said that his radio-friendly rap songs made a lane for Drake.

Would you call LL the forefather of pop rap?
