LL Cool J has been in the rap game since near the beginning so he has a different kind of perspective than most.

When asked who his favorite lyricists are, he called out Lupe Fiasco and Aesop Rock.

"I think Lupe Fiasco is really complex and interesting because a lot of the schemes and plots he puts in the lyrics.  He has a certain level of complexity that's interesting.  I think Aesop Rock is really interesting in his complexity," LL argued.
