LL Cool J and Canibus Squash Ancient Beef

by HHL Editors

Back in 1997, Bill Clinton was president and LL Cool J and Canibus were not feeling each other.

They had been friends. In fact, Canibus was a feature on the LL Cool J song '4,3,2,1.' However, LL objected to one of Canibus's bars, which he thought was disrespectful, and had him take it out. Eventually, the original leaked, and they carried on their feud in other songs.

Fast forward 17 years. Last night LL was playing the Hot 97’s holiday show at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and who does he bring out on stage but Canibus. The two performed '4,3,2,1' and generally acted like old chums.

At the end of the performance, LL told Canibus that "your career is starting again, baby," which could be taken as a backhanded diss. Old habits die hard. Check out the reunion.
