Lil Wayne's 'Free Weezy Album' Movement Now Has T- Shirts (And Mannie Fresh)

by A. Mia Logan

If you ever went through a phase where you donned a few "Free [Insert Incarcerated Friend's Name]" shirts, then maybe you will appreciate the irony of Lil Wayne handing out t-shirts at his Miami show with pleas to free himself from the clutches of Birdman. Tha Cater V was supposed to drop late last year, but the domestic disturbance currently taking place at the Cash Money/Young Money house is keeping that from happening. Instead, Wayne gave us the second installment to his Sorry 4 the Wait mixtape series, which was met with much "meh" from everyone. The New Orleans rapper has also decided to release another album (or is it a mixtape?), named the Free Weezy Album, because if any black man with locs should be freed right now, it should be Lil Wayne.

The FWA shirts debuted yesterday during his showcase at the Red Bull Guest House festival which also featured DJs Questlove, and Mannie Fresh, who joined the stage with Wayne. Maybe the two will get together and start a Big Tymers label, this way Wayne can replace Birdman the way he was replaced with Young Thug.

How do you feel about the Free Weezy Album?

A) Ready to hear some new Wayne

B) Don't care, but will probably listen

C) Wayne is washed
