Lil Wayne Explains Why He Doesn't Want Anyone in the studio when he records

by Daryl Nelson

Lil Wayne and Lil Baby chopped it up for Rolling Stone's Musicians on Musicians series and talked about their recording process.

In one part of the conversation, Lil Baby said that after recording a song, he knows which one to keep based on the reaction of others in the studio. That's when Wayne said he no longer has a room-full when he's in the booth and explained why.

"I remember those days" said Wayne, who's currently facing 10 years in prison on a federal gun charge. "Now I go into the studio by myself. I don’t like n***as to be around my sh*t. I don’t got nobody to pop their head, tell me it’s fire or something. I just go off. Other than that its just feeling, man ... I start making some sh*t up in my head."

For all you rappers out there, do you prefer going into the studio alone or with your peoples?
