Lil Wayne Dropping 'Free Weezy' Album Today (Update: Mack Maine Disputes This)

by HHL Editors

The last 24 hours are shaping up like Hip Hop Christmas morning. On the heels of Drake dropping his surprise album/mixtape If You're Reading This It's Too Late, we get word Lil Wayne is dropping his own mixtape (or is it an album?) Free Weezy later today.

Wayne announced the project last week, but didn't attach a date to it. Now we have that, plus cover art.

No matter what Free Weezy technically is on the album vs. mixtape scale, it's definitely free. And, unlike Drake's album, it won't fulfill any part of Weezy's Cash Money contract. Wayne is currently suing Birdman and the label for his freedom and $51 million.

Check it out on Datpiff.com tonight.
