Lil Wayne Didn't Even Know Who XXXTentacion Was When They Put Him On "Carter V"

Lil Wayne made some interesting revelations during his CRWN interview with Elliott Wilson.

Among them were that Drake wasn't included on Carter V because of clearance issues and that he thinks the 23 track Carter V is "short", and there was talk of making C5 a 40 track album.

He also told Wilson that Young Money President Mack Maine was responsible for Carter V's tracklist and sequencing.

In fact, Wayne claims that he had never even heard of XXXTentacion, who's featured on "Don't Cry", until Maine suggested they put him on the album.

That may sound far-fetched, but at least Wayne is consistent. In a 2016 New York Times interview, he famously claimed he had never heard of Lil Yachty, Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage, and Kodak Black, all of whom were quite big at the time.
