Lil Baby Speaks On Pressure to Beef With DaBaby

by Daryl Nelson

Lil Baby is promoting his sophomore LP My Turn, so he stopped by Joe Budden's Pull Up to talk about it, as well as other topics.

One person who came up was DaBaby, and Joe asked if there were any "private conversations" between him and his team when DaBaby started gaining popularity.

Lil Baby said people tried to get him to beef with the North Carolina rapper but he wouldn't have it.

"So many n***as tried to go there with me," Lil Baby explained. "N*** will say, 'He tried to do this.' I'm, like, 'no' everytime. It was never going to be nothing. I made sure of that. [Beefing] ain't really my wave."

The Atlanta rhymer then said he saw DaBaby putting in work back in the day and building his brand, even before he started to take rap seriously.

"I seen him at South by Southwest before I really started rapping with a diaper on, like, on some baby sh*t," said Lil Baby. "Even though my name was Baby from like hustling before rap, I actually seen him. I got a song with him for a feature before he got hot ... He don't sound like me. He don't kick my swag. His name just DaBaby."
