Lauryn Hill's daughter Saleh Marley dissed on what it was like to grow up with Lauryn as a mother and Rowan Marley as a father

It wasn't a pretty picture.  Saleh reports that she was traumatized by her parents fighting and by regular beatings from mom.

"She was just very angry. So, so, so, so, so angry. She was unapproachable.  She was literally not easy to talk to and then half the time we didn’t live with her. I lived with my grandparents half the time," Saleh explained. "And so, when we would get disciplined. It’s crazy, I’m playing this trauma back in my head as I speak to you.  She's be like “go get the belt” that's when you know you're in trouble.  Everyone is shaking in their boots.  You walk to your death.  You walk to go get the belt.  The belt, the switch.  My mother is an amazing woman, but she obviously didn't do everything right.  I'll show you what she used to do.  She would hold our hands up like this," she said and held her hands up and mimicked a beating.  "Hearing that sound just traumatized me ... And then the threats, the constant threats… That belt man. That’s that slave s**t."

Saleh went onto reiterate that she thinks her mom is an amazing woman.  According to Saleh, Lauryn got less abusive around when Saleh turned ten and started sending her to her room instead of whipping her.

Saleh wasn't so forgiving toward Marley, who she blasted as an absent dad.
