Las Vegas Shooter May Have Been Targeting Chance The Rapper Festival

Stephen Paddock killed at least 59 people and injured over 500 in Las Veags Sunday night when he opened fire from his 32nd floor Mandalay Bay Hotel suite onto the Route 91 Harvest country music festival.

He then killed himself.

The Daily Beat reports that Paddock may have initially been targeting the larger Life Is Beautiful Festival -- which was headlined by Chance The Rapper and Lorde, and was held in Vegas the weekend before.

According to law enforcement officials, Paddock had rented multiple condos overlooking the Life Is Beautiful Festival last weekend.

Why he decided to wait a week is as mysterious as his motives in general. So far there hasn't been a unifying explanation for why Paddock -- a 64-year old who had multiple homes and planes and was described by his brother as a "multi-millionaire" -- committed the atrocity.

There has been some speculation on gambling debts, and it's possible he was just a sicko who wanted to go out as the biggest mass shooter in U.S. history.

ISIS took responsibly for the attack, but their claim isn't viewed as credible.

We did learn today that Paddock had set up a camera inside of his hotel room to capture his deadly shooting rampage. He had additional surveillance in the hallway to warn him as the cops arrived.

There's also a photo of Paddock after he killed himself.
